Short week! Thank you, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.!
5th grade Media Technology students worked through lessons 2 and 3 of Digital Passport (Privacy and Cyber-bullying).
South Carolina Picture Book Award Lessons were centered around Exclamation Mark by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld. After reading the book, each grade level did a little something different…Kindergarten created a poster “exclaiming” a favorite activity or special talent (idea from this blog); 1st graders sorted words and sentences based on what sort of punctuation they should have on the SMARTBoard; and 2nd graders put together a tangram puzzle of an exclamation mark or question mark. Got that from here.
My Technology Integration Specialist and I started a little small group research with 1st graders. They picked an animal they want to learn more about and then started finding facts about that animal in books. We’ll see them once a week for the next few weeks. They will continue their research next time they come in…
The rest of the week was spent planning for upcoming lessons and events – 100th Day Celebration with Kindergarten, Harlem Renaissance Literacy Cafe with 5th grade; Author Study Research with a 3rd grade class; Book Taste with a 4th grade class and more! My last few weeks of school are going to be busy, busy, busy! And, that’s GOOD 😉
How was your week?
