2014 – 2015 Week 2!

Week 2!

This week, I focused on book care with my Kindergarten classes. We read Mr. Wiggle’s Book and talked about what is good and bad to have around library books. I have a book bag filled with items like a stuffed animal, pictures of a puppy and a baby, markers, etc. I tell the kids that the book bag belongs to Mr. Wiggle and as I pull things out, they decide if it is something good or bad to have around library books.

I only saw my 5th graders once this week. We started working on our Digital Passport. This week’s lesson focused on communication with devices. We talked about making sure you aren’t too distracted when you are on your device and that you remember to put it down sometimes and speak face to face with your friends and family!

The Technology Integration Specialist and I have also been busy doing iPad Review Classes with all grade levels (K-5) this week. Each classroom gets 1 iPad for classroom use and before they get the iPad, we go over district “I Can” statements for mobile devices and make sure they know the basic parts of the device.

I’ve also been planning for Dot Day and our upcoming Lion Cub Story Time = both are coming soon!

This is a short week for me (not at school today) because I am headed to the National Book Festival with some library and teacher friends. A Nerdcation! So excited!

What did you do this week?

PS – My dogs have an announcement to share 🙂
