What Are You Reading? was first hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. If you’d rather follow folks who are reading books for grown ups, you should follow her Monday meme. I am participating in the kidlit version of this meme (although sometimes I actually read books for grown ups).
In Print: Loved The Popularity Papers by Ignatow. I‘m thrilled that it is a series…I can’t wait to read more! I would have been totally obsessed with this series as a middle school girl. I started reading Big Fat Disaster by Fehlbaum on Thursday. Good YA Fiction. So far, it’s pretty heartbreaking (like lots of YA), but I’m hoping things are going to turn around.
Listening to: Fly Away Home by Weiner. I started this a couple of days ago, so I’m not too far in and I’m not so sure that I haven’t already read it! Still trying to figure that out. What’s interesting is that some of the plot is similar to Big Fat Disaster by Fehlbaum. Actually, this plot shows up in so many books (husband is well known, has affair, wife has to get strong). I think I’m ready for something different after I finish these two novels!
For school: There isn’t one professional book I am reading this week, but I am taking this awesome online course (started last week), so I will be doing some reading for that.
What are you reading?
PS – Don’t forget – I am participating in Donalyn Miller’s Sixth Annual Book-a-Day Challenge this summer…it will be my third year participating. You can follow me on my library Facebook page, Goodreads and on Instagram to checkout the books I read this summer (#bookaday). I will mention many of the books I read this summer in my #imwayr blog posts, but chances are, I won’t mention ALL of them 🙂
