Week 35 @npeslearningcommons

Last week, we were SCPASS review crazy…this week, we were just SCPASS crazy. Our state-wide standardized test was this week and I’m sure our students rocked it. I know our teachers and students are glad to have it done with for this year.

During testing week, things are kind of quiet in my parts. My assistant helps with testing, so I am solo in the mornings. I had my regular fixed Kindergarten classes each day. We are still learning about the ocean. This week I read Ocean Counting Odd Numbers by Jerry Pallotta with them. This book is SO GOOD! Lots of great ocean animal facts and odd number practice. I learned a lot by reading it! After sharing that book, they checked out and went to centers.

5th graders are still coding up a storm at Code.org.

The rest of the week was spent preparing for upcoming events and programs – Book Fair, Summer Reading, the last Lion Cub Story Time for this school year, and our Book Award Challenge Party. I’ll be writing about all of that in future blog posts!

Next week, 2nd and 5th grade will be reviewing for an upcoming Technology Assessment and the whole school will start preparing for Leadership Day in a couple of weeks…the Learning Commons will be a busy place!

How was your week?
