#imwayr It’s Monday! What are you reading?! 12.23.13

What Are You Reading? was first hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. If you’d rather follow folks who are reading books for grown ups, you should follow her Monday meme. I am  participating in the kidlit version of this meme (although sometimes I actually read books for grown ups).

In Print: Finished  Close to Famous by Joan Baur last week. LOVED this bookWould be a great book club selection for upper elementary students, I think. You could serve cupcakes at your book club meeting! I am currently reading OCD: A Love Story by Haydu. I can relate to these characters a little more than I’d like to admit! Loving this story.

Listening to: The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer Last week I said I was having a hard time getting into this one…I blamed it on the person reading it, since I am listening to it. I am totally over that now and it has become one of those books that I hate to leave my car, because I want to hear more of it! A story about a group of friends who meet as teens at a summer camp. The story is about their lives growing up. No vampires, no crazy action or crime, just kind of a slice of life about a group of friends. I am really liking it now…I understand all the buzz.

Other: I am also catching up on a stack of magazines (both gossip and professional), re-reading materials for a class I am teaching at USC, and reading whatever else I WANT to read…I’m on break! Time to catch up!

What are you reading?
