Week 12

Week 12 wrap up!

*This was the last week for my unit on Mo Willems with Kindergarten. We finished by reading a book in the Elephant & Piggie series. Students also voted for which character was their favorite (Pigeon, Elephant & Piggie, Knuffle Bunny, or Leonardo).

*I helped out with a professional development session on informational texts and close reading (CCSS shift). I shared resources with our teachers like DISCUS, TrueFlix, TumbleBooks (I shared how to get to the non-fiction books), etc. I have a Pinterest board with lots of links and resources on it that I shared with them as well.

*I helped one of our practicum teachers with a lesson she is planning with 1st graders in the next couple of weeks.

*Media Technology students wrapped up the unit on creating a podcast with Garageband.

*Scratch LEAD Time was Wednesday. We taught our group how to create a game.

*Wednesday was also early release for our students. I met with teachers to plan upcoming lessons and programs.

Other fun things that happened this week:

*PAWS to Read at Pets, Inc. I really almost brought home one of those puppies this time.

*New Diary of a Wimpy Kid came out on Tuesday. Just as good as the rest of them!

*I went to YALLFest on Saturday in Charleston. SO FUN! It just made me love Rainbow Rowell MORE and it made my “to read” list THAT much longer.

How was your week?
