First week back at it!
A short week that was a slow week in the library. This first week back, classroom teachers are focusing on procedures and getting back into the swing of things. That gives me a chance to plan and get ready for the rest of the school year (or for the rest of this month, anyway). I am starting South Carolina Picture Book Award lessons with 1st and 2nd next week and am working on some special events coming up in February (especially excited about our plans for Digital Learning Day). I hope to get my 3rd – 5th grade classes in soon for some research “boot camp” and I want to review using the library catalog with all grade levels. Lots of good stuff coming up…
This week, with Kindergarten, I did my Strongman lesson that I love to do at the beginning of each new year, when we are all talking about New Year’s Resolutions. I wrote it about it in this blog post last year.
With 5th grade Media Technology students, I found this Goals, Wishes, & Resolutions freebie that they filled out. After filling out, they typed what they wrote onto a template in Word and made it “fancy” – changed the fonts, colors, added clip art, etc. Our Technology Integration Specialist took what they wrote in Word and compiled it to one PDF document. She then used Youblisher to create a flip book of their work. Nice!
Happy Sunday, readers!
