What Are You Reading? was first hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. If you’d rather follow folks who are reading books for grown ups, you should follow her Monday meme. I will be (mostly) participating in the kidlit version of this meme (at least I think so….right now).
It’s Monday! Here’s what I’m reading:
In print –Three Times Lucky by Sheila Turnage (novel for upper elementary) Just started this one. Loving it so far. Not quite sure what it’s going to be about, but I love its “voice.” Remember this from last week? STILL READING IT!
Listening to – Okay for Now by Gary D. Schmidt I really like this so far. The main character likes to visit the library every Saturday (what’s not to like about that?) and there are lots of themes and events in the book that lend themselves to research and non-fiction text pairings.
On the iPad-Wild by Cheryl Strayed This is an Oprah bookclub book – started last week. Still working on it.
In print- Encyclopedia of An Ordinary Life by Amy Krouse Rosenthal An autobiography of sorts about Rosenthal. I love how it is written – in lists, short paragraph dictionary entries, etc. Over the summer I declared that Amy Krouse Rosenthal was one of my favorite authors and she’s not letting me down!
That’s it – here’s to Monday!
