It’s Monday! What are you reading? 8/13/2012

For the longest time, every Monday, I have been reading about what my favorite bloggers are reading (got that?). I have decided that I want to start sharing too! So, each Monday, I will TRY to post what I’m reading. Forgive me, in advance, if I miss some Mondays.

The original meme is hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. If you’d rather follow folks who are reading books for grown ups, you should follow her Monday meme. I will be (mostly) participating in the kidlit version of this meme (at least I think so….right now).

It’s Monday! Here’s what I’m reading:

In print –Three Times Lucky by Sheila Turnage (novel for upper elementary) Just started this one. Loving it so far. Not quite sure what it’s going to be about, but I love its “voice.”

Listening to-Most Talkative by Andy Cohen I love Andy Cohen, therefore, I love this book. If you aren’t a fan of Bravo or Cohen, you probably won’t like it, but I’m enjoying it very much. Not kidlit.

On the iPad-Wild by Cheryl Strayed This is an Oprah bookclub book and I’ve been hearing good things about it. I was very BORED at an appointment the other day, so I bought it for the iPad and started reading it. I was kind of floored by the first chapter (which is as far as I’ve gotten). She describes exactly what I was going through this time last year. Her mother is diagnosed with lung cancer and is told she has a year to live. She describes what it was like to hear the doctors and to take care of her mom. Ugh. It is tough to read, but I HAVE to read the rest, because this is someone who has been through the same thing as me. I don’t see myself hiking ANYWHERE, but I’m looking forward to reading about her journey. Not kidlit.

Happy Monday!
