First, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all of the kind words about my mom. I miss her like crazy every day.
I went back to work this week. Kids were great, teachers were nice – it was hard to go back, but my NPE family made it less hard. Distractions are good.
So, here’s a run down of my week.
5th grade Media Tech kids worked on Edmodo stuff (online safety, cyber-etiquette, etc.) while I was out and started game design using Gamestar Mechanic. We are still working on game design and I hope to kick off our news show in the next couple of weeks. This is a new group of kids from last semester.
Kindergarten read Sophie Peterman Tells the Truth (a South Carolina Picture Book Award Nominee). We talked about “point of view” and how the story would be different if the baby told it instead of the big sister (thanks, Mrs. Lawson 🙂 ). I tied this book in with Mail Harry to the Moon and a Bookflix video based on That New Animal. A baby storytime!
1st and 2nd grade had classroom guidance this week, so they just stopped by for checkout.
5th graders in one class finished up their Harlem Renaissance Photostories, while another 5th grade class finished up their research. This project started when I left and is now wrapping up.
And, that’s about it for this week!
More projects, storytimes, and lessons coming soon!
