Thanksgiving break is here!

For the 2 days of school before Thanksgiving break, I helped 4th and 5th grade finish up some writing for our upcoming Palmetto’s Finest Visit. The TIS and I showed off Kerpoof to our 5th grade Media Technology class and I read my favorite Thanksgiving story, The Ugly Pumpkin to my fixed classes (Kindergarten – 2nd grade). 1st and 2nd graders heard the story, talked about how the Ugly Pumpkin changed from the beginning to the end and checked out their books. Kindergarten created their own squash with a positive spin – “I am the awesome squash,” “I am the happy squash,” “I am the excited squash.” We’ll take their squash and put them in a class book. I also brought in a yellow squash for kids to try – lots of them were brave enough to try it and many liked it! 🙂 I got these great ideas from this wonderful blog: The Inspired Apple

Happy Thanksgiving, blog readers! My goal for these 5 days off is to enjoy family, practice yoga, and just have some TIME for STUFF. Have a good one, friends!
