The beginning of a new school year is always exciting. I love the idea of starting with a clean slate –
forgetting learning from things that may not have gone just right the year before and starting OVER. I have been reflecting on last year and thinking about this upcoming year quite a bit.
First things first – let’s make a good first impression.
Every year I try to bring in a “back to school” gift of sorts for my teachers and district library friends. In the past I’ve done microwave popcorn with a note to “pop in” to the library; goodie bags with items from DISCUS, knowitall.org, ETV, etc – the bags were sealed with a sticker that had a wordle about the library on it; I’ve given out little bags of candy with a note saying something like, “I hope the new school year is sweet.” Just little gifts to say, “Hey! I like you! Let’s work together!” The gifts always come with something that has my website on it (like a handout with resources available to them).
I’m kind of lost for what to do this year though. I have some ideas, but I’m wondering what you have done? Care to share? Let’s link up or whatever the blogger lingo is!
Love this quote:
“I am focused on the work. I am constantly creating. I am a busy girl. I live and breathe my work. I love what I do. I believe in the message. There’s no stopping.”
